We want you to be happy, knowing that your dog is happy! Please contact us if you have a question that is not covered on this page
What is the "Meet & Greet"?
This is the first time you and your dog (or dogs) will meet us and our dogs. We want everyone to be happy, and for this reason it makes sense to ensure that we all get along before you commit to leaving your dog with us.
To give your dogs a chance to get to know us and our dogs before they come to stay with us, we will always arrange a Meet & Greet. This is usually done at our own house, which also gives you the opportunity to see where your dog will, hopefully, be staying. We aim to introduce everyone in our secure garden initially and then, once all the dogs have had a chance to get to know each other, we will go indoors to discuss further arrangements. If you prefer, we can carry out the Meet & Greet on a walk, although we would always suggest you then come back to our house, for the reasons mentioned above.
In the rare event that any of the dogs do not get along, we will of course not expect you to choose to board with us - we would not want our dogs to be uncomfortable and of course realise that you would feel the same!
What's the best way to book?
You can book by telephone or email. If you use choose to use email, you can download our booking form and then, once you have filled it in for your initial visit, save it to your own computer and then resubmit via email, simply changing the date and anything else that may have altered
What do I need to bring with me when I drop my dog off?
Generally speaking, the only items required for your dog's home boarding are:
- Your dog!
- Collar (with ID tag) and lead. This can be a regular lead or an extending lead
- Bed/bedding
- Food and specific treats that your dog enjoys
- Any medication your dog requires
- Any toy that your dog doesn't like to be parted from
- Your dog's vaccination record
NB: For the duration of their stay, your dog will also be provided with one of our own 'Dog For A Day' ID tags
What about payment?
We are happy to accept cash or bank transfer. Whichever method you choose, we will ask that you pay at the end of each visit, although we will happily accept payment on first arrival if this suits you better! (For stays of longer than one week, payment by bank transfer must be completed before boarding commences)
Does my dog have to be vaccinated?
Yes. Please contact us for more information on what we require.
We will need you to bring evidence of up to date inoculations when you drop your dog off
Can you collect my dog or do I have to bring it to you?
Depending on location, we may be able to offer this service for a small extra fee.
What about walks?
We usually walk around three miles in the morning. Our dogs go off lead, but we never let your dog off lead unless you specifically ask us to, and also sign our form to confirm that you have done so. Dogs may well get muddy on the walk, but we will ensure they are cleaned up when they get back! We'll also restrict any feeding for at least an hour after the walk to avoid any risk of bloat
Do you take all breeds of dog for Home Boarding?
No. We do not take any dogs that have behaviour issues, giant breeds, dangerous breeds or any dog that our own two dogs find it impossible to get along with. Upon enquiring about our services, assuming that you wish to board dogs with us, we will invite you to a "Meet & Greet" session, which basically involves coming to our house to meet us and our two Labradoodles, Charlie and Maddy. This is to ensure that all dogs get along but also to allow you an opportunity to meet us, to see where we live and to reassure yourselves that your pet is coming to stay with people who will care for them!
What can I expect when I pick my dog up?
Your dog will be very excited to see you when you pick him / her up. Some people have said their dog is quiet for a short time when they get home. Don't worry about this as it is perfectly normal. They have effectively had a holiday too with lots of interaction and mental stimulation. Very soon your dog will settle back into their normal routine.
Where can I find your Terms and Conditions?
Our Terms and Conditions are part of our downloadable booking form. This is in Word document format
